Coast to Coast
04/06/2008 by FactoryPilot.
Hello Thorpers,
It’s been mentioned before, but I’ll mention it again. Hudds Star Wheelers have organised a van /driver/etc.. for twelve of their members to go to Morecambe to do the C2C ride off their own back, as the normal organised event is not running this year. Four of us expressed interest to HSW to join them, however they are now full with their own riders. Is anyone interested in sorting out our own transport to do the same, on the same day as HSW - 5th July 2008. They have managed to get the price down (via use of club funds, a bit of sponsorship etc..) to $15 per person. I would like to make an official request to use club funds to part fund this event, though it may mean we end up paying a little more than $15, depending on the number of riders who are defo interested.
So far we have interest from the following people:
Me
Martyn Bolt
Matt
Martin Lucas
My dad
It is not a prerequisite that your name starts with M, though this would look nice……..
Anyone else interested? Remember - 5th July - not a lot of time left.
Brad
New Years Day Fancy Dress Time trial:-) :-) !!!!!!
03/06/2008 by sausage.
Fancy making a “fool” of yourself and risk bringing shame onto your entire family and Ravensthorpe CC :-)by getting outrageously togged up on New Years Day for a fun time trial around Hartshead circuit (4.6 miles)?
After the farcical shennanigans it is proposed we refresh ourselves in a local hostillary and refuel our glycogen stores with post race recovery food (pie and peas!!) and drinks (real good, real ale (for the men), lager (for the other “men”) and a white wine sprizter for the ladies).
Everybody is obviously welcome to bring the family and/or friends.
Initial thoughts on venue are the Old Colonial in Mirfield but I will contact them in the next week to enquire. If anybody has contacts elsewhere please let us know and we can discuss and compare options.
Lets all get together and kick the year off to a great fun start and have a reet gud laff!!!! (Just think it’s the first 4.6 miles of what could be a great year).
You know you want to!
Steve.
P.S. Anybody who goes as one of Max Mosley’s “lady friends” risks the wrath of severe ridicule on youtube!!
