Hi
This Sunday does anyone fancy a ride with a big bunch?

for entry details, although 0945 seems astrange start time, first 25 flat round Boroughbridge then over terrington and around Hovingham area

for last years pics so you can see the group size, not a sportive as it isn’t timed but it can be a bit ‘twitchy’!
Food and beer available at the end and easy to get to from here

I rode the Arthur Metcalfe 2 years ago and it was an excellent event, very friendly bunch but quite pacy indeed, we dropped off after the first loop and made our own way on the 2nd loop. The route is very scenic and on quiet roads. I would very much recommend it.

A great ride today, over 200 starters for all rides, so a massive bunch on the first 25 miles, which at times was a bit twitchy.
As it was fairly cool it was ideal for a 75 mile hilly ride
I shaved 16 mins off my previous best time and managed to hang onto the front group until about 8 miles from the end, when I couldn’t stay in touch on the climb from Hovingham.
Lately my Average HR on club runs, even our hilly rides has been 125, it was 136 today!

The climb from Hovingham is one son of a gun (to say it politely!), a real drag that is pretty much interminable but a great descent with a rip roaring finish along the flat for the last 6 or so miles. You did exceptionally well to keep the Thorpers jersey in the front bunch for so long Martin.
