Or why not have both, then racers and non-racers alike are catered for? I believe we have enough trophies kicking about. How about a prize for “most consistent rider when able to turn up, as shifts will allow”? Then I’ll have a chance of winning summat (other than the fat boy trophy)!!

I think that is fair as a general overall improved rider, you don’t need times to compare, we know who has come on just by riding with them and you don’t need to race to prove that. Just don’t rip people legs off just before voting time!!!!!
Brad- how about a trophy called “The most dedicated to cycling whenever I see fit, not hungover, not too windy, and generally life is not too busy but the wife is wanting me to do some decorating and other chores that I have been using cycling as an excuse to get out of” Trophy? I’ve got that one nailed, BINGO.

We are looking to try again a genuine best all rounder trophy, and award points for pepole in differring aspects.
Completeing a reliability ride, similar points to the formula one idea for competative events and then ad together to give a BAR.
Suggested events are, 50 in 3 reliability, 100 in 8, club 10, club 25, hill climb, freewheeling, HCA reliability, handicap ride,Phil & Friends or Kirklees sportive
Gives a broad spread of rides?
I agree that the Most Improved rider is a misnomer as it focuses on time trialling and not genuine improvements in cycling.
A person could only want to ride club runs and in their first year go from always getting dropped to a strong rider, a massive improvement but currently not recognised unless they ride more than the runs captain!

Steve, you’ll win the “Any excuse to miss the hill climb !” trophy this year, and possible remain unchallenged for years to come!!!
