Future Club Runs?

As we draw towards the end of another runs list….

how about waddington again, we last did it in February and got round before dark so April should be easy?

19th April is the GHS 100 in 8 reliability form dewsbury to pocklington ( and back)

26th is the Robbo Ride from lockwood

17th may Etape du dales so a club run to Grassington would be good?

13th June GYBR  ( and back is 140 miles)

14th June Red Rose ride , Audax to the west coast and back (200Kms)

we haven’t been to Howstein for a while?, the old favourite of Strines and Snake?

I would be in favour of banging some extra miles on when the days get longer. However - Strines and Snake is still the best!

  2. FactoryPilot says:

Don’t forget there is still Rob’s ride to come:- Over Marsden, Isle of Skye Rd, Holme Moss, Glossop, Snake Pass, Strines and home. Approx 100 miles. We’ve had all the weather imaginable on previous rides, including an epic blizzard over the Strines, tough going after 80 miles of hills!!

  3. Doug says:

    Let’s DO IT!

  4. Doug says:

Fry up Phil mentioned that a ride out to Knaresborough would be a pleasant change, when considering routes for the Spring and Summer.

  5. Martyn says:

How about trying this over 2 runs?

pick up the route at Scammonden follow as far as we can week one, week 2 same start point opposite direction ( doh!) and hopefully get to point we stopped at last week.

Bit different to doing out and back, hills on each week and new roads

  6. Doug says:

Martyn - that book on your link is for hippies

  7. Steve McCall says:

I’ve got that leaflet in laminated form and always fancied doing it but there is a lot of track riding, would take a little effort sorting a total road route but I’m sure you would relish that Martyn!

  8. Martyn says:

Doug the newer version shows people riding on the road! progress but yes the original web site did give the impression families were doing it on tracks, typical councils!

Steve, the latest map shows which sections are ‘off road’ and it may well be that they are greenways now?

Of the 150 miles ( 2 club runs length)it is round Garforth and wetherby which shows as off highway

Still Steve will be testing so it doesn’t affect him!!!

  9. Steve McCall says:

OOOHHHH 2 clubs is it now? A least I “try” a bit of both. (Try being the main word in that sentence!!!)

  10. martyn1 says:

As former Thorper Clint Eastwood said, ” man’s got to know his limitations”

followed by, “well do you feel lucky punk”

  11. FactoryPilot says:

    I feel like playing ‘Kerplunk’.

  12. Doug says:

    I’ll give you a game
