Cape Argus

[1] dsc04269.JPGJust returned to my hotel for my flight back to the UK after an extreme South African Cape Argus. Winds upto 50 km/h are no fun! The first half to the south of the peninsula was fighting against the wind, some cyclists got blown of their bikes! The second half was supposed to be better but only half of the second half was wind in the back, once we headed back to Cape Town the wind started playing and hit us again full in the face. Normally the last 10km after Suikerbossie are rolling down to the finish but this time even with a descend you had to pedal hard to make any speed…..finish times were around 45-60 minutes over what the guys normally do. I did 4h18′ over the 110 km - not too bad with all that wind. I even found the energy to bike back to the hotel. Anyway - I wore the Thorpers outfit with pride in South Africa - hope to get some nice photo’s from the organization later this month.

Maybe something for a Sunday ride next year…..

Greetings, Jack
