Trip to the Alps?

I had scheduled a cycling trip in the Alps (very close to Alpe d’Huez) from 19 - 22 June with a friend. However, he pulled out (obviously with a lame excuse!) but I’d like to go anyway - which means that I’m looking for someone who’d like to spend three days cycling in the Alps during that weekend. The cost would be around £120 for the weekend (2 person room - and no, I’m not snoring!)  and share the fuel cost. I’ve done this a couple of times before and it’s always great fun to climb the Alpe d’Huez, Galibier, Telegraphe and feel like a TdF cyclist.

Let me know and we can discuss details.

Sounds interesting Jack, I may very well be interested!

Will your GPS work over there? (Says me, missed the turn off for Whigfield Farm on Sunday).

  3. Alastair ''GPS'' Wareham says:

Probably not buddy but Jack’s will :)

Jack, I’m seeking permission from Lyndsey (the wife) to come on the trip. If someone fills the void whilst my negotiations are continuing then there will be no hard feelings.

Alistair - your the first (and only one) who reacted so far, so no worries.

Al, it would suit you and i would recommend this to anyone.
Last year me and John stayed in Bourg d Oisans at the foot of Alpe d Huez. We climbed the Lauteret,Galibier,Glandon,Croix du Fer,Duex Alps and Alpe d Huez. All and more are within cycling range from a central base.
We are going back this July to add the Izoard and Sestriere, as well as Alpe d huez time trial again.
To say that Old Trafford is the Theatre of dreams is incorrect. In fact it is the theatre of Sh.te.
The Grand Alps are Wembley,Silverstone,Wimbledon,Nou Camp, etc all rolled into one. How many other sport lovers get to test themselves at thier top venues ?
