A long ride

Rod and i are stepping up the distances getting ready for the dreaded LEL.

( i went to Bradford via New Mill and sovereign cross roads troday and that wasn’t because of Al’s GPS!)

This saturday we are meeting at 0800 ( in the morning Brad!) at 3 Nuns to go to teh windmills via Holme moss and woodhead

On Monday we are going to Bridlington ( and Back) on the bikes , set off time to be determined but early

If anyone wants to join us you’d be welcome….well most of you would!

Club Family Fun Day.

Hi everybody, I mentioned a Family Funday earlier in the year which a lot of you seemed interested in. I mentioned a potential date of Sunday June 21st.

This has just dawned on me that it is Father’s day, there is another potential date of Sunday the 5th July that we could do but I do not know if there are any sportives on these dates, can one of you Sportive lot advise?

The day could be based on a short family based ride around local areas in the morning then BBQs and bouncy castles, etc in the afternoon. If people still want the normal club run then that’s fine, they can join in the fun when they return.

We need to know the level of interest to see if it has a viable chance of suceeding because we will have to share the cost of food and bouncy castle hire. I can supply beer from the company shop and will obviously sell at cost price (honest Guv!), this will be pay as you drink, not paid for upfront.

I know Martyn mentioned a “time trial pub crawl” based roughly upon the Hartshead circuit but if anyone has anymore ideas then please post.

Also please state your prefernce for the 21st or the 5th.

Mine is the 5th.

VTTA North Midlands on the Hatfield 25 course.

In the excitement of Sunday I forgot to post the results from 2 of our riders testing over at Hatfield Woddhouse 25 course.

Alastair slammed in ANOTHER PB and also showing fine form for Saturday’s Club 25 Chamionship with a storming 1:00:39 which is a pretty good time considering the cross winds, draggy road surface and the constant direction changes on a notoriously slow course. (BUT you are still not under the hour Al!!!!!!). This placed him 10th out of 29.

Paul posted a time of 1:03:54 positioning him 19th.

Well done guys, look forward to racing on Saturday and losing my trophy to one of you :-(
