Tickhill toddle ( 31 may ride)

A low turnout on Sunday left just Cap’n Alex, Martyn, Craig J and a new rider from the Condor setting out form Mirfield on a warm sunny but breezy day.
It is a couple of years since we ventured south of doncaster so the ride had a few map stops to keep us roughly on track.
The cafe at Wortley hadn’t poenned when we got there ( and we weren’t that early!) so we carried on and saw a quaint tea room in Wentworth which was very welcoming
Pressing south we found a route which avoided the major roads and brought us to Tickhill garden centre near Harworth. Suitably fed ( new guy had the full sunday roast which even craig passed on!) we came back straight through Doncaster and into wakefield
The ride back was a brisker pace, with most taking turns at the front. Alex hadn’t been out much of late but still managed to put a few turns in.
Overall we clocked 142 Kms at 25.5 avg, which in old money is about 85 miles at 15 mph?
It would be great to see more riders at the start even if they are only out for a short time?
