Dalby day

Hi

A few members have said they fancy a bash at mountain biking.

Through work i have a stock of new Giant Talon MTBs in Dalby forest, which subject to the Forest not being out of action ( they have a car rally this weekend)  I can make available as a swap for a club run.

The Forest offers a variety of trails from flat forest roads, onto the Green, Blue, red and black  trails in  ascending order of difficulty.  It will also host a UCI world cup event next year.

It could be a great day for families ( smallest frame size 15″), and for non cycling persons, a walk in the forest, mooch around the visitor centre or nearby children’s play ground or eat at the Tree Tops Restaurant/cafe

Scarborough is near enough afterwards if you must

Possible dates are  11,18, 25 Oct  and 22 Nov

any interest

Club Ride 20 September

What a beautiful day it was, sunny with a little breeze and not too hot - wonderful cycling weather. A perfect day for some climbing with Mike the R, Mike B. (great to see him back again!), Alex, Doug, Martin, Craig, Phil R. and Phil J., and myself (Jack) setting off together with some blokes from Sowerby Bross, to conquer Holmes Moss - Snake Pass and the Strines. The weather on the top of Holmes Moss was absolutely fantastic (the best I ever had) and after a fast descent and a stop at a motorgang joint, we decided to have breakfast at our usual place in Glossop. It was full breakfasts, beans and toast as usual (except for me that is). Most of us went on to conquer Snake Pass and the Strines. It was a great sight seeing all climbing up the final ascent of Strines (20%). I went home via Shepley and Emley Tower - did nearly 2000 vertical meters and 130 km. This was for sure one of the better rides of the season.
