Best all rounder series

A few years ago we trialled a club comp aimed at trying to encourage more club members to participate in events
If there is support and interest we can do the same again
1) How about New years day fancy dress ride, based on the best atire.
2) MTB participation event either ride to Windmills off road, or from Langsett to Derwent water and back over Cut gate
3) 50 mile reliability ride from Dewsbury through Selby finish at Sherburn, meet other riders there who don’t want to do it. Idea is get all riders there in one group
4) GHS 100 in 8, Dewsbury to Pocklington ( and back)
5) club 10 TT handicap prize ( try and make sure it isn’t the day before the GHS?)
6) hill climb, done as part of club run and to count riders have to complete the club run
7)down hill, ditto
handicap event, riders start from library with slower riders going first on 50 mile course ending at pub lunch and meet other members. Good handicapping would mean a tight finish on the final 10 miles?
9) club 25 TT handicap
10) a n other?
competative events score 20 for first place and down to 1 for 20th to encourage entry
reliability are 10 points to everyone who finishes short one inside the time, 20 for longer one
should be 5 competative and 5 participation events, one per month if poss from january so winner can be announced at AGM?

club Run - Mirfield to Hollingworth Lake
04/10/2009 by Al and Sarah.
After my wedding last weekend and all week on honeymoon i was looking forward to a nice easy ride! It never works out like that does it.4 Thorpers turned up Me ,Martyn, phil J, and Craig N and we set off on the wheels of 6 Sowerby club riders who helped to protect us from the head wind but made us work hard with a brisk pace (the idea of a easy ride now long gone). We stayed in that formation all the way out to Todmorton where we peeled off left and started heading for Hollingworth Lake which soon arrived in under one and a half hours. Fully refuelled off we set again heading for home up Blackstone Edge but now with the wind behind us, which made it much easier to keep the pace high. Another excellent Autumn club run, who needs a British summer..51 miles.. Average speed 17.4mph

Hi, attached are the fixtures for 2010 in the Yorks DC region.
An extra date has been added for the 718 on July 24th but with no restictions, so the big hitters will be playing out that day and we may not get a ride if it closes on a long 20 again
The 100 on Aug 8th is moving to the week before I think so don’t make your holiday plans around that!
We have the honour of the National 25 on a new course (V2311) starting at Kirby Hill-Kirk Deighton-Kirby hill. This will take place on 5th June so not much time to get a good qualifying time in.
The Team Swift event on the 718 (5 races on alternating Wednesdays) is still going to be preference to Yorks DC Clubs (after a load of complaints and grumbling from riders outside the district) so if anybody wants guaranteed rides on the super fast drag strip, that is the one to aim for.
Have a look at which events you think would be good for the club champs for discussion at the AGM so we can get dates that suit the most riders so we can get a real good turnout and challenges for the trophies. (If agreed at the AGM we may have handicap trophies for all events, so there is a chance for everyone at ALL levels to win, especially the premier trophy for the 25 handicap, which i’m polishing everyday before handing it over to John Cal
