New Years day fancy dress TT

There has been a last minute problem, I go a voice mail from the OC and they cannot do food tomorrow!!!!

Instead we will go to the Whitegates on Leeds Road, not brilliant but needs must (although they do cask Timmy Taylors :-)

Fred Whitton Challenge

The FWC is this year on May 9th. Entries are different to previous years as you now have to download an entry form and send it off to the organizers. They will draw 1000 entries out of the submitted entry forms (instead of having to wake up at 4am to enter - in the hope that you are within the first 1000). Anyway, they do accept up to 4 multiple entries on one form to guarantee groups to enter. So, the question is who wants to ride the Fred Whitton. As it is one I haven’t done, I plan to submit an entry, but if anyone else wants to we can use one form. Let me know.

Club Run - Mirfield to Keighley (Rossi Cafe) 27/12/2009

Despite the Met Office severe weather warning for a slither of ice and a couple of flakes of snow, 6 brave Thorpers (Phil R, Phil J, Martyn B, Mike the Ref, Paul B and Alex. ) made it to Rossi’s cafe at Keighley. It was very cold but great to get out in the fresh air and do some exercise after all the over indulgence of the past few days. Not a good day for a puncture which is unfortunately what Phil R. got, but that was the only negative in a very enjoyable but short club run.Hope to see you all on New Years day for the fancy dress and next Sunday for the first club run of the New Year..All the very best to all of you  Alex, Sarah and William.

Alas poor Boothferry, I knew it well

Audax email forum notes the passing of another cafe

Christine’s diner, ( nee redbeck, previously family Diner) has passed into memory  and the doors are now  ( allegedly shut)

It has suffered a long and painful demise, having once been a thriving 24 hour hostelry, in its latter days it was a shadow of former glory, with staff from another galaxy in attendance.

No more the hard rides along flat roads from Castleford, the Full English so beloved of the Johnson twins will fade in their stomachs

 It grows not old

Oh stop it, the cafe is closed

New Years Day fancy dress ride.

Is everyone still up for it ? What time start and are we having a meal and ales at The Colonial again?
