New Years’s day fancy dress TT
Well, what another fantastic turnout by the Thorpers and families on an extremely cold day up at Hartshead. The mass ride up was a real laugh with many people pipping their horns (for the right reasons for once) and lots of shouts of encouragement from walkers. I think we may have brightened their days a little.
We had;
Bunch of grapes- Andy (extra 5 points in the BAR for best fancy dress)
Scuba diver- Brad (extra 5 points for the most daring/unsafe
)
Robin Hood- Rich Creaser.
Soldier in full dress with Charlie Chaplin on tandem - Maurice and Mrs Maurice (sorry I don’t know your name).
Frenchman- Martyn.
Mrs Doubtfire- John Callaghan.
St. Trinians- Alex.
Bertie Basset- Steve.
Also special mention to Keiran and his mate for riding all the way around and staging the exciting sprint for the line.
The photos are on my Facebook site.
The winner of the TT which gets no prizes at all, was Rich. The rest of the times were so widely out by my “friend” (the Welshman), it would be pointless posting
, thank God that I wasn’t on for a PB.
The following social at the Whitegates suprisingly turned out to be a success with amazingly edible food and decent cask Timmy Taylors. After no glasses being available, floods behind the bar, both Landlord and barmaid having embolisems, no burgers, no lemonade and not enough seating, we really enjoyed it!!!! When we got the food it was pretty decent for the price and most people were happy and a good laugh was had by all which is what the day is all about.
Happy New Year to you all and hope you have a fast and safe year!

The BAR table has now been updated. Brad has a near perfect score with 39 out of a possible 40.
