club Run - Mirfield to Keighley (Rossi’s Cafe again) 3/01/2010

4 brave, mad idiots made it out on the first club run of the new year in very slippy freezing  conditions. It’s never been so scary descending  at 5mph into Mirfield.  Me, Mike and Steve headed for Dewsbury to meet John where the decision was made to head for Keighley again! with the road conditions being so bad, the main roads through Bradford and the lower ground seemed the better choice…. Once out of Kirklees, the road conditions improved and good progress was made and the delights of Rossi’s cafe were soon to be enjoyed.  Suitably defrosted and refuelled the brave decision was made to return over the tops and a great choice it was, with clear views for miles in all directions and some hills at last, all topped off with the final climb up Bailiff Bridge. I for one am glad i braved the conditions for what turned out to be a fantastic ride in good company..47 miles after returning via Dewsbury..

50 in 3

The short reliability ride is scheduled for March, before the runs list gets sorted are there any events in March which Thorpers are already enterred?

 I may be doing a 200 on 28th so that’s out

We had a good route last time round Selby and then riding to Squire’s for lunch, which could be the club run for those not doing the reliability?

50 in 3 is an average riding speed of 16.7 mph and should be achievable as a group for all riders?

Saturday Run

here is a google link for the run to the Royd Moor cafe, which I did for someone who emailed.

Cheers
