If its not an open event you don't need to be affiliated to BC unless you are wanting to be an affiliated member. Effectively you are just wanting to run a club event,however, if you run it on the open road then you would have to notify the police,which is just a formallity really. A couple of stop watches, marshalls for any road junctions, and no dead turns, and unless roads are very quiet all left turns. As your Dad says other info from time trial forum.
