Mike Kamis in an accident.

Mike has suffered a badly broken leg when commuting to work this morning, he was knocked off his bike by a car travelling in the opposite direction which turned right, across his path. This sent him flying over the car, landing on his leg which took the full brunt of the impact, the driver was questioned by the police but I have no more details regarding this.

He had a 2 hour operation at Dewsbury hospital this afternoon and has been advised that he faces a 5 month rehabilitation (don’t know if that is off work/ in pot/off his bike or what).

He will be sorely missed on the club runs and at the time trials he had planned for the year, it is a real shame for him as I’m sure you will all agree he has come on tremendously and had a promising season ahead of him.

Hope you get well soon Mike and I look forward to you dropping me again when you are out on that monster of a mountain bike.

    have just been to visit mike, sadly his left leg has taken a blow, broken in many places mainly below the knee. yes there were many who witnessed the incident, one being a workmate of mine who says the car didn”t slow or give indication! if anybody wants to visit, mike is in ward 15, times are 4.30/8.30

    Very sorry to hear the bad news . A fit guy like you Mike should help you in your recovery. Get well soon and we all look forward to seeing you on the bike again giving it some welly.

    just a correction on visiting times if anyone wants to see mike, its 2.30 till 4.30 and 6.30 while 8

    Oh my god just read the blog as been away for a couple of days - what terrible news, Sarah and i wish you a very speedy recovery Mike. Will try to come see you asap.
