John, Martyn's right (for once). When you get that shiny new bike out it will hopefully have a compact/triple chainset on it. Keep plugging away - progress is very good indeed. You're a natural.

John,

Very sensible advice from Martyn, but take my advice, when Al says "hills next week", stay at home :-)

Ey up John, as i recall I trailled up the hills behind Doug and Ben, and even Phil coming over cringles out of Silsden

You are doing great and i'm sure you will be a strong rider.

Perhaps for some of the hillier rides it may be worth looking at lower gears, which may help fight off cramp?

Thanks to the lads for another great day out, especially fry-up, Doug and Alex for helping me along. Sorry I didnt stop for the last puncture, but my legs were cramping up luckily it wore off in Bradford. I think I liked Martin more when he was on his heavy bike with the bell,[too fast ] thank god Ben said he was tired, I thought it was just me! See you next time. (It's a good job Alexander McQueen's dead cos that jacket would have killed him!!)

I'll have one of those fixed rate mortgages, please - 5 years at half a per cent will do nicely.

Alex, you omitted to mention Fry Up Phil's new jacket - he looked a lot like 50 Cent when he put it on - a bit of bling and 50 Cent's own mother would have been fooled. I think it is the whitest jacket I have ever seen.
