New route and mid week cafe?

I had to go to hebden bridge for a meeting today, so rode out .  I know it’s a hard job but someone has to do it…

Foolishly I took the canal path from that hill at Sowerby, and got mud all over as the route is terrible.

However, while tucking in to egg, beans on toast at the station cafe at Hebden bridge ( not open Sundays!!) I saw a glossy from Calderdale  Council on cycling, it mentionned improvements to the ‘Calder valley Greenway’ from Sowerby Bridge to Brighouse.

Finding the thing was hard, as signs aren’t brilliant but once on it was tarmaced from just out side Sowerby  ( follow the back road and just before the Elland rd, drop on to canal towpath) right through to Brighouse centre, where again lack of signs and retained cobbles meant I was back on the road.

Today there were no anglers, and you had to be careful under bridges, but not a bad route for a change, for Tints or for families.
