sunday report

well the morning started not to bad in gomersal, overcast but fairly warm , however by the time i got into mirfield the weather as you know turned a bit shitty, with it being warm it was quite refreshing.     i bet you could of done with some of it yesterday ?    Anyhow, being on my own and not a fair weather thorper in sight i was joined by wayne, andy, paul and matty from sowerbys and decided to make the short trip to holmfirth .   on our way we we witnessed truely world class driving by some muppet who at high speed just missed us all by inches, and so with our religous beliefs reafirmed and our shorts stained but none truely soiled we sped on to the cafe.      for the record, beans on toast with 2 eggs.  The others nowt but coffee latte and a scone, very poor but not as bad as cottage cheese.   special big upto Harriat and her 2 puppys!  very very nice.     lastly, the subject of barley was brought up by wayne, maybe a joint trip on the cards?

Ravensthorpe 10 mile TT championship

Hi,

Our esteemed ex-member and offical handicapper that is by no means open to a bribe (honest Guv, it was just “resting” in his account that cheque from me for £7.52), has set the following handicaps for next Saturdays 10 mile time trial championship.

Steve - Scratch (been done AGAIN!)

Andy Cal- 15 seconds

John Lanc - 50s

John Cal- 1 min 30s

Jim Kirrane- 1 min 30s

Jack- 1min 50s

Les- 2mins.

I know where the handicap trophy is going but I will do my damndest to keep “foreign” hands off our trophy, we can’t be doing with those Johnny Foreigners coming over here and taking our silverware ;-)

Hope it’s a good event and we all have a fast safe ride, enjoying what is an eventful and hard course.

Allez.

Steve.

New Runs

We were discussing the chance for different runs yesterday on the GYBR, in between insults and admiring the scenery.

 http://www.amkirby.co.uk/Cafes/CafeList.htm

This is a list I think may be useful to use as a base, select a town/village name  eg Boroughbridge, it tells you which cafes are open  and when and also which are the nearest cafes to that location in several directions

Great Yorkshire Bike Ride

I would like to thank Inncognito, Craig, Doug and Martin on a great day riding the GYBR. Enjoyed the banter even on

the return leg.
