John you need to click on the image to get the surprise - and the part we walked up lol

So the ‘red areas’ are all over 10% - my Garmin had up to 19%.

It’s a brutal one - up there with Wrynose, Hard Knott, Fleet Moss, Park Rash, Rosedale Chimney and Holme Moss.

I think Holme Moss is for sissies compared to Winnats and Rosedale Chimney.

I think they are different climbs - Holme Moss is quite a drag from the Derbyshire side.

I’m not sure whether I have climbed Winnats before. It looks absolutely savage, anyway!

It was the first time I experienced Winnats Pass & Holme Moss and ive got to say both climbs almost killed me….. Role on when we have a flat club run.

Flat club runs……move to the Netherlands! bit boring though!

i loved it right upto the 286 mark and then a lovely dismount to walk gracefully the rest of the way in cleats gasping for breath and it really did stretch my calves out ,i like the holme moss type of climb better nice and steady pace were you can actually breath without the oxygen bottle .
it could have been the slow puncture that made pedalling harder oh and the 14 stone i was trying to pull up hehe
