Club Run/Lynda’s Ride 8th August

Lots of events taking place this coming weekend, Lynda’s Ride, Phil and Friends and also lots of members on Holiday. I (Alex) with Doug,Howard and Craig Newton,Craig Johnson and Ben ??are doing Lynda’s Ride so Club Run points will be awarded for all Thorpers taking part so come on those of you who have not put your name down. Now that leaves the Club Run it’s self without a Captain for the day so would someone be so kind as be a stand in Captain please. I have not put a run down on the calendar for the 8th so that still needs to be sorted out. Speaking of  the Club Run calendar if any members have any suggestions for future runs then please post them here for my future planning.      Thanks Alex

    This Sunday needs to be something steady and flat to break someone in who hasn’t riden in over 2 years!

    Haha thats what Alex said about going to Helmsley, that it would be flat - I’m sure he must live & dream about hills. There’s no escaping hills.

    I’ve got a suggestion captain - somewhere short and flat so I don’t get a husband home every sunday that is tired and grumpy for the next two days !!!! Sarah

    Why not try Tadcaster? - there is a nice cafe there and the terrain is fairly flat.

    Awe come on you,ve got to give me a point for doing the phil and friends “winnats pass “again plus the “moss” and “monsal head “and “the strines “(going on my other bike though got a compact) maybe this time i’ll make it up winnats see you all in a couple of weeks . what about taking sky john around the robbo route nice n flat for him

    John if you make it up Winnatts then you get the points (not much chance then) but we will need video proof!!

    I only know of one man that takes photo’s and rides a the same time and that’s martyn . I’ll be too busy pulling myself up that god damn hill. But I should get the points especially after my op. By the way alls well .

    Tadcaster sounds a nice run for Sunday, Go towards Rothwell then towards Garforth, past Lotherton Hall, onto Sutton and then Tadcaster. For our journey back we could go towards Otley…..

    Al Oh yes I have! Though it is a new to me, I can do a great job at it. After the 2 years out my legs have forgot how to go round in circles and now even going over speed humps cause me to go straight out the back!

    Sadly I’m away for the 2 following Sundays but will defo be out the following one.
