club Run 15/08/10 Luddenden, Withens Moor, Bolton Bridge and Langbar.

Sorry for the quality of this blog we need Ben back and his fantastic written skills (crap on a bike thou). Any way 14 members out today but not all in the same place! Martyn Bolt, Brad, Paul, Alex, Doug, Derick, Fry Up, Phil R, Dave, John S, Mad John, Sky John, Geoff and a new rider Chris. First mention is to Chris great ride today it was great to meet you and i hope you enjoyed your first outing with the Thorpers and hope you join us again soon. 10 riders left Mirfield heading for Rossis the long way up Crank Snapper Hill and over Withens Moor to Oxenhope and then down to Keighley. 3 others went the flatter way and just missed us at the cafe. From Keighley it was over to Bolton Bridge and then the tough climb of Langbar, very tough and well climbed by all. Great decent down from Langbar and then the chase for the cafe at Otley. The cafe at Otley was awful and we need to look at the one at Askwith in future which is highly regarded? Refreshed off we set up the old Chevin and on to the usual drag of Bradford and Manchester Road. Great day and weather. 72 miles 15.5 average speed. Next week Glossop, Snake Pass and the Strines. Hope to see you all soon. Cheers Alex

Bridlington CC 10

Four Thorpers were on the startsheet for an oversubscribed event, of 150 riders, held on the V718 course at South Cave.

The conditions were sunshine and cloud with 12mph east winds.

The winner was Michael Hutchinson in 18.03 over a minute quicker than the 2nd placed rider.

Thorpers were Andy Callaghan  21.15 PB !!!

Steve McCall 22.31 (mad man riding with a pot on his arm)

John Lancaster 22.35

John Hatfield  D.N.S

I over celebrated my pb last night and have headache now but it was worth it. I knew I was on for a good ride after recording fastest time of the evening and a course pb on the O10/1  on Tuesday night.

These days are the payback for all the training, effort, and dissapointments ………….ALL…blinking….EZ !
