I will never go back to a compact, there for p**f, I did 10 years on a standard before I broke both legs….. Its just a matter of building the strength back up in my legs..

Good luck with that, John. Perhaps you would like to pass your comment on to Ivan Basso, this year’s Giro winner, who rides a compact. It’s not just about strength - it’s also about technique. Spin faster and work the heart and lungs harder.

John, if they are for puffs then why have you got a light bike? Shouldn’t you be riding on something steel as that is what ‘real’ men ride!!
