Alex, there is a village called Downham which isnt far from Gisburn which you may consider as an alternative to Barley. Check it out on the Garmin.

yes john, or we could come home via padiham/bacup and blackstone to get some scenic climbs in, leave that up to al.

I think this route goes up keithley road over laneshaw bridge but mr feb johnson as a piece of paper with a very nice route and it comes back over blackstone edge or if the legs are that dead you can go along the valley floor
