Time trial bike frame for sale

As i am buying Alastair’s old TT frame, my Felt S32 time trialnframe is for sale. I know that some of you are getting the time trial bug so this is the chance to get “real”.

I will sell the frame with everything except wheels, crankset (however i will leave rhe shimano ultegra bracket) and saddle ( but including aero saddle pen) for £400 but if needed i will add some Fulcrum Evo 5 wheels for an additional £100.

I will post the frame on ebay and forum somewhere next week so if you are interested be quick!

Hi-De-Hi campers

The club 25 chamionships are taking place on 28th May up at Boroughbridge on the Springbank Holiday weekend with a hardy contingency of the club camping over for a night (or 2 or 3 in some people’s case).

The course is a good fast one which is considerably easier than the Brotherton course, so lets try and get a good turn out to contest the 1st trophy of the year. We hear so much about some guys racing off the front, charging up hills and doing a bit of through and off, so let’s put that speed into contesting the prestige trophy of the year!

The handicap will ensure ALL riders will have a very good chance for the large silver trophy currently held by Andy. This trophy is the original 120 year old trophy that was contested from year 1 of the Thorpers conception. This would be a fitting celebration of the clubs 120th anniversary year if we had a good turn out.

The race itself is from 14:00 which will leave ample time to slap 1/2 a pig and 3/4 of a cow on the coals whilst drinking up an appetite. So come on, get your name to me, the number in your your party and I will book us all a pitch.

And for now, carry on camping!

Steve.

Club Run 01/05/11 Boroughbridge

This weeks club run is to Boroughbridge which is a first for me and a chance for me to check some of the roads out for the 120 and the actual cafe stop in Boroughbridge. We will be heading out towards Tadcaster first and then lots of back roads??  And yes this is a mostly flat route!!    hope to see lots of you out Sunday sporting your new club jerseys with pride.. sunday report

Todays ride was to be Cracoe, but i changed it at the last minute to make it shorter, now with Bolton bridge tea rooms being our stop.  Those present this morning were 4 thorpers and one interloper, Geoff, Paul b, John Collinson, myself and our old friend Damien from Condor.  The route out was over Pecket well, turning off at Copley, up over onto the b roads that run parallel with the a646 passing through Luddenden, Midgley and on until we hit the long drag of Pecket well.    At the bottom Paul left us for rossis as we turned off for some more hills, dropping  into Oakworth , then taking the scenic roads to Cowling, passing Lothersdale and at last some down hill into Carleton.  Its all down hill from here!  i think we had just done 40 miles on the up at this point so as we hit skipton we picked up the pace for the cafe going onto the gated road via Embsay.   For the record, beans on toast[with cheese] and 2 eggs!   Homeward route was as ever via the Otley back road.   80 miles in ,  see you next week

HELP NEEDED..

I am trying to help out a colleague and good friend who got a bike on the cycle to work scheme late last year and has since had the misfortune to have the bike stolen whilst been stored in a bike locker in the centre of Huddersfield. The bike was locked up accordingly and there were cctv cameras nearby but the scum bags still managed to steal the bike in broad day light in a busy part of town and no one saw anything. Insurance?? yes he had insurance but the lock was not the approved one the insurance company demanded and as such will not pay out. Now this chap is not a cyclist, just a hard working family man trying to get to work cheaper than using the bus but now has to pay every month for a bike he hasn’t got and still find the money for the bus. So how can anyone help?? I was wondering if anyone had an old bike they could donate for me to try and fix up? even if it has broken parts, someone else may have a old part to replace it. The frame would have to be medium but other than that anything to get the poor chap mobile again would do.  And when I say for me to fix up I mean that in a broad term because I would need help with that too!!  Cheers everyone.
