Alps trip 2012

As I am aware that not all will have a facebook account:
As the TdF route seems to be coming close again to our Chalet, I propose to have the Alps trip next year in the week of July 9th. This would allow us to cycle to the stage to Toussuire-Les Sybelles, which is probably taking place on the Thursday of that week. This is at the foot of the Croix de Fer, so it that might give us some nice miles and some good views of the ‘real stuff’. As this years length worked pretty well, I would propose to do something similar, so leaving on Monday (9 July) - staying somewhere on the road in a cheap plastic but clean F1 Hotel, arriving on Tuesday to do the famous Ravensthorpe CC Alpe d’Huez hill climb in the late afternoon, and returning on Sunday (15 July). The cost for B&B and full dinner every evening are around 50 Euro’s per person per day, so this would bring the cost to around 300 Euro’s, but obviously there will some extra’s for transport etc. I would like to book around end of November, so if you can let me know who would be interested……
PS - you don’t need to be a rider of worldclass to come, the Alp climbs are long and steady but never over 10%, most of the times they are somewhere between 6 and 8% but obviously for quite long distances (>10 miles). Usually there is a cafe near the top, so plenty of opportunities to regroup and enjoy the fantastic descents!
