Club ‘Anniversary’ one off kits

To give you all a quick update on the special celebratory kits we have been discussing. I have emailed the lovely people at Shutt Vr who are going to come back with a couple of designs for us.
Once I get these back I will post them up and we can discuss how to tweak/change them until we get a consensus decision is reached and the top matches what we want.
Shutt have a reasonably quick turnaround for producing the kit so we should have it in plenty of time for spring.

120 year Special edition shirt.

Since the idea of a one off special edition shirt appears to have gone flat, I spoke to Andy on Sunday regarding my idea of a 120th anniversary special of the club jersey. My idea was to simply switch the black and white on the current club design, giving us what I think would be a very classy looking jersey, yet retaining the current design. Andy then suggested adding 120th Anniversary lettering in various places which would look fantastic. What does everyone think? If the new shorts come through with mor black on than white, then both shorts and jersey would look fantastic!! Get your ideas down here, and lets discuss…….. Brad.
New Impsport Thorper bibshorts.

Hi folks,
I am pleased to announce, after several weeks in contact with Impsport, to introduce a big improvement in our clothing line.
Our bibshorts will now be made to the “Elite Range” specification and the white rear panel has been removed. Therefore those that were unhappy with the white panel looking unsightly when wet and the substandard quality of pad and short in general should now be pleased.
The Impsport spiel:
We have designed a new radical curve fit bib short that feels so snug you won’t want to take them off!
The 190grm Lycra that makes up the shorts is of high quality and gives enough stretch while offering an unrivalled support and fit.
The seat pad is constructed from breathable fabric and offers just enough padding to make your ride experience comfortable, without it feeling as though there is an unwelcome visitor hanging off of your seat.
Ultimately, this short offers a fantastic fit and ride comfort while not breaking the bank.

Club Kit

After Alex eyeing me up the other day he quizzed me on one of my Cycling tops.
We then discused the possibility of getting some in club colours, not as a ‘new’ club kit more an addition to the kit we already have but in club colours for anyone who was interested.
I have spoken to the nice people at Shut VR who have given me some approximate prices. We would need to get at least 5 people buying the kit however if 10 were interested it would be £60 for a top.
Whilst this is not cheap it is very good quality kit. The tops are made using Merino wool and Shutt are a new company with a very good reputation. The manufacture all the kit in the UK using UK materials where possible.
If anyone would be interested, take a look at their website, we would potentially go with a ‘retro’ design (potentially we could try and replicate one of the earliest ‘Thorpers kits we know about (Martin B, you will have been around when the club was formed won’t you??!!)).
Any questions or if you are interested, please pop a note on here. The final design would clearly be a colaboration between us all but I do like the idea of resurecting an early kit.
Please don’t take this as an attempt to edge out the current kit, it isn’t, it is simply an opportunity to, well, buy more cycling kit which, lets face it, we all love to do.

An update on the level of stock, particularly for new members.see attached link. Clothing StockIf anyone needs any gear that is not in stock you can order direct from the Impsport website by clicking on “view club shop” and typing the password “de5ruf3swe”.Obviously prices are higher for individual orders. Impsport bulk ordering policy has changed this year but if we order over 15 items we qualify for discount. Therefore, if there is enough demand let me know, but don’t forget delivery will be 28 days from ordering.At the moment I am in the process of trialling clothing from another supplier ( at my own expence, not freebies). However first impressions are not the best. I will give a full evaluation and feedback when complete. Also, I am looking to trial a poloshirt in green with the Ravensthorpe emblem and again I will let you know if it will be available.Andy.

Club Clothing Update.

After another delay at Impsport the clothing order will be shipped on Thursday 5th August. Therefore I will be at the clubnight on Thursday 13th with the gear.
If anyone is desperate for thier kit before then they can arrange to collect from my house(07982728633). Otherwise bring your cheques or cash to the meeting room next week.
I will post a further update when I receive the order.
