Diary Date 26th April

The “Not the Kirklees” sportive will hopefully start near Huddersfield centre and use a very similar route to last year.
I am talking to Police , HQ, and other supporters , the ride will run starting at 0900.
Just how big and snazzy depends on sponsors etc
Great Yorkshire Bike ride entries
05/12/2008 by martyn1.
The ride is on 13th June next year. return transport has already sold out.
Anyone wishing to ride MUST pre register online http://www.gybr.co.uk/
Previoously we have done it both ways, if anyone is interested?
Entry provides feeder stations on the way out, we stopped at Filey for lunch and terrington for a snack on the way back
Although the same route the ride is different each way and an early start means that you see many riders on the way back
sunday 28th

Hi
This Sunday does anyone fancy a ride with a big bunch?
http://www.timeoutdoors.com/Events/Profiles/Arthur-Metcalfe-Memorial-Ride
for entry details, although 0945 seems astrange start time, first 25 flat round Boroughbridge then over terrington and around Hovingham area
http://www.cycle4life.org/am.htm
for last years pics so you can see the group size, not a sportive as it isn’t timed but it can be a bit ‘twitchy’!
Food and beer available at the end and easy to get to from here
Linda’s Ride 3rd Aug
17/07/2008 by Al and Sarah.
Wondering if anyone is interested in doing Linda’s ride - 165 miles covering 4 highest peaks in each county of Yorkshire, in aid of Kirkwood Hospice and organised by Dave Sowerby in honour of his wife. I am doing it and wondered if anyone was free to join me ! I did it last year, a tough but enjoyable day, well supported and a great challenge. Its on Sunday 3rd August. If you can’t join me does anyone fancy sponsoring me ? Cheers.

Coast to Coast
04/06/2008 by FactoryPilot.
Hello Thorpers,
It’s been mentioned before, but I’ll mention it again. Hudds Star Wheelers have organised a van /driver/etc.. for twelve of their members to go to Morecambe to do the C2C ride off their own back, as the normal organised event is not running this year. Four of us expressed interest to HSW to join them, however they are now full with their own riders. Is anyone interested in sorting out our own transport to do the same, on the same day as HSW - 5th July 2008. They have managed to get the price down (via use of club funds, a bit of sponsorship etc..) to $15 per person. I would like to make an official request to use club funds to part fund this event, though it may mean we end up paying a little more than $15, depending on the number of riders who are defo interested.
So far we have interest from the following people:
Me
Martyn Bolt
Matt
Martin Lucas
My dad
It is not a prerequisite that your name starts with M, though this would look nice……..
Anyone else interested? Remember - 5th July - not a lot of time left.

Star wheelers are looking at a morecambe to scarborough ride, 5 July check out their forum for latest news, sounds good!
Kirklees Event

spot the club top in this month’s Cycling plus!
However, spot the lack of Thorpers who have entered the ride unlike the Star wheelers who are there in force.
