Quite fun actually,good atmosphere,expecially when i turned my torch off and it was pitch black.

Best road bike for £500

I am on Royal mail the cycle to work scheme with Halfrauds but unfortunatley RM have capped this at £500.

Does any one have any suggestions of the best road bike i can get for 500 squid

I know Leisure lakes (they had specialised Allez for £500 but now the price has gone up) and condor accept Halfords vouchers (rang them and there was nothing for me at this price).

Any suggestions would be helpfull

Club Run Sun 5th Thrybergh Country Park (part two)

Hi everyone I’m back from a great time in Florida and are now looking forward to getting back in to the swing of real life. The club run this coming Sunday we will be trying to reach Thrybergh Country Park for the second time after our failed attempt on the 8th Jan??? The following Sunday (12th) I will have to miss has it’s my youngest’s first birthday so Fryup will be in charge again but it is also the Batley bash which I’m sure lots of you will want to attend..

Sunday the 26th is the 60 in 6 from Brighouse which will be the club run for that Sunday but can anyone please confirm the details for me (start time, route and entry fee if there is one).

Dates for 120 ride and Lynda’s ride are still to confirm but I’m thinking June for the 120 and I will catch up with Dave and see what his plans are for Lynda’s ride but if Dave does intend to do it then I think we should support it with a big Thorper turn out??

OK thats it for now hope to see lots of you this coming Sunday.

As I have sold my planet X wheels and got a clincher disc wheel, I have two Vittoria Corsa Evo CX 22 mm tubulars for sale. They have a bit of gluetape remains but otherwise only did 10 miles! No wear at all. They are £55 new per piece but will sell them for £50 for the pair. Let me know if you’re interested.

Cheap bike wanted

One of my mates (who has injured himself whilst running, which is apparently his favourite pastime) wants to do a bit of cycling and requires a second hand bike which will, in his words “do the basics”. He is a beginner and wants to pay about £150. I know it is a bit of a tall order, but can anyone assist?

We very recently had 2 new members join the Thorper team, so its a warm welcome to Malcolm Lock and Steve Vaughan. Malcolm is a regular on the Saturday run to the windmills cafe and Steve is now regaining fitness following a nasty accident last May. He is also taking part in the Turbo training sessions and hopes to gain enough fitness for the clubruns. Steve was also a pretty quick tester in the early 1990s. Welcome guys .
